Simple, quick, and tasty!

Atlanta (in the 70's today!)
Consistent with my goal to share the whole Everest experience as if people were going along with me… I thought it might be of interest to share a few words on what I eat these days. I eat a lot as my metabolism is pretty high and I’m actually trying to put on some pounds in advance of the trip. Some Everest climbers lose fifteen pounds or so over the course of the expedition, so any beefing up I can do in advance would be helpful. Beefing up is tough for me though… I tend to stay pretty lean… so with that said, I am consuming extra protein to give my normal diet some help. One way to do this is by drinking protein shakes. I actually found a brand that tastes pretty good, so I don’t mind a couple of these guys a day. So, breakfast (part one of it) consists of a lot of cereal and a liter of milk w/ tons of protein powder added to it. Oh yeah, a little coffee too (btw, one of the best inventions made in my mind is the Keurig coffee machine… very helpful during busy times like now!).
