Interesting Faces, Unique Places
Kathmandu, Nepal
Our team (who I'll introduce in future postings) spent the day touring Kathmandu a bit more. As it turns out, yesterday's sights were just a warm-up for our encounters of today. I've posted another video that shares some highlights (note some of the content is that from a cremation site we visited and may not be suitable for young children). This truly is a fascinating land.
On the climbing front, we split our gear into two categories: one for gear that is to go straight to base camp (we won't see this stuff for the next two weeks, it's being transported up to BC by helicopter and yak as I write), and another group for gear we'll be using on our trek into BC. The trek starts tomorrow - I'm excited to get out of the city and into the mountains.
Thanks all for the great comments that have been posted. It's really fun to read them. I noticed my dog Lucy made one too... I knew she was smart, but going online to make her contribution, that's really something! It can only be topped perhaps by the video conference I had with her this morning (again via Skype) - I'm not joking btw.
My ability to post updates may be a little hit and miss over the next few days. In the mountains, new tech equipment comes into play, including solar panels to power the operation. I am getting an education on multiple fronts. It seems I am climbing some learning curves as well as a mountain.
Will send word from a much higher, colder place soon!
