The GenV.net Scavenger Hunt: This fun activity is a tool to both “tour” new members around GenV.net, as well as challenge older ones!
How It Works: A scavenger hunt is sent out as a Private Message to all members of GenV.net. It would not necessarily need to be long, but include hints that cause members to navigate to all aspects of the website. Hints would be given too, but all members must think of creative and correct ways to answer all of the questions. In order to answer the question a URL would be given, with any additional information such as a Blog Title or author, etc. An example of such a scavenger hunt is below:
1. Every month contest requests are sent out: where can you go if you accidentally delete the e-mail? ¬¬¬¬_____________________________ (answer: http://genv.net/en-us/node/6119 - Contest forum)
2. What GenV page has links to profiles, members, videos, and mre? (You’ve seen it many times!) ¬¬¬¬_____________ (answer: http://www.genv.net – Home Page)
3. Where can you launch your own venture, right online? ¬¬¬________________ (answer: http://genv.net/en-us/node/add/yvapply- Launch YV Team Page)
4. What page has info on the role of the Advisory Council? (Now that you are growing your venture) ________________ (answer: http://genv.net/en-us/grow_it/advisory_councils/boards_of_directors_advi... - Board of Directors and Advisory Councils)
Then:
On a set date, let’s use June 15th as an example- the scavenger hunt is sent out to all members of GenV.net. A message will come with it saying that entering starts on June 16th at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. (or to be fair, a message could also be sent out a week in advance saying what time the Scavenger hunt will arrive in Private Message Inboxes- so no one has a head start).
Then, the first person to get in all answers (however many they may be) correct will win. To keep the suspense up, no winners will be announced until a set day, maybe (assuming the contest started on the 16th) the 23rd.
The winner wins a $50 Visa Gift Card and a copy of their filled out scavenger hunt is posted online, so that any members wondering what the answers were can see!
This is a fun, unique way, to get members involved in exploring every nook and cranny of GenV.net!
