About Us
Our team includes teen peer educators working for EVCHC in Pomona, Ca. We educate teens on pregnancy, STDS and healthy relationships.
We wanted to form a fun place where teens can learn about the resources that benefit them in their communities. We created te idea for "Pick Your Passion." A special thanks to Arissa, Valerie, Lupe and Shawna for bringing this together. Our venture idea is to hold a teen mini mall or rummage sale event where only youth up to the age of twenty-four can rent booths, equipped with a table and two chairs, to showcase their passions for profitable money. For example, if a teen artist wants to sell their pieces of art, this would be the perfect opportunity. Every teen that wants to rent a spot would pay twenty dollars. The twenty dollars from every teen will be divided equally to be given to three different organizations and to fund another “Pick your passion” event in six months. The charitable organizations chosen are: East Valley Community Health Center’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Department, Our Neighborhood Homework House, and Downtown Business Association. Also, health agencies and youth service organizations will be contacted to rent booths to display information so that teenagers will have the opportunity to learn about local community agencies and the services they offer. This idea incorporates many dreams including youth development, increased self-esteem, and building community unity. In the city of Azusa, not many diverse activities exist for teenage youth unless they are interested in sports or tutoring services. This venture idea has the ability to bring a diverse group of teens together. Whether they enjoy sports, music, art, or anything else, they are able to come together to share their individuality.
