About Us
SEAS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Gulf Coast youth after Hurricane Katrina.

SEAS (Students Extending Assistance to Students) is a nonprofit organization established by teens who traveled to the Gulf Coast in July 2006 in the wake of its most devastating and merciless disaster, Hurricane Katrina. Their one month stay, filled with a combination of satisfaction, stress, anger, and hope, changed their lives. Together they realized that although their summer journey may have ended, a new one was begging to unfold. SEAS is their continuation of this journey, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Gulf Coast youth through the dedication and initiative of young adults across the country. Its main activities include providing material aid to schools and communities affected by the storm, as well as a program we created, entitled “You are Special” which inspires students to think of possible careers for their futures and to dream big. We also have a holiday letter writing program set up, which we are hoping to expand to many school districts in Mississippi and Louisiana. Our programs provide opportunities for young adults to help their peers throughout the country.
