Our team designs and runs fashion shows for the charity Hope House in order to earn money for the house and to culturally educate Fredericksburg in VA

Well, my team started out with 2 members; my friend Li and I, decided we wanted to do something big next year. It was going to be our senior year, and both of us were excited to leave the school with a huge bang! We worked on ideas to do something that seemed fun and something people would enjoy, and we stumbled upon the idea of a fashion show. We realized, however, that the school wouldn't finance or allow any fashion show not apart of the fashion class or department to happen, so we made it a charity fashion show.
We looked through many charities and organizations for the city of Fredericksburg in Virginia, and finally found a close enough and good one; Hope House. Right in the heart of downtown, we found Hope House. It is an charity and organization that shelters, feeds, clothes, and aids homeless women and children. It was a good way to show the city of Fredericksburg that James Monroe High School's students had alot of heart and just as much talent with a modern twist.
So, we worked on the ideas for it all. At first, people thought we were joking and didn't take us seriously. This went on until we finally went to Dr. Chesley the school principal, and asked if we could do it all with the help of our art teacher and sponsor, Ms. Cabral. He agreed and thought it was a good idea, and here we are. We currently have 6-7 designers who make and showcase their designs, and many models who wear and help broadcast the event. We work with our art club at the school to get in fundraisers and monetary issues, and have volunteers who get the word of our shows out.
Our overall goal is to work hard, earn Hope House some money, and show Fredericksburg that we have talent and heart for our community. We are still also currently trying to work hard and trying to hopefully document the lives and days of the Hope House.
