Turtle Talks is a team that works for sea turtle conservation. Added to the program is the threatened gopher tortoise. Zander Srodes team chair also authored a childrens activity book on sea turtles, available in three languages. 100,000 books are in print. A new book on gopher tortoises has now been published..
Goals
- I have started a venture and want to share insights
- The Turtle Talks Team strive to promote sea turtle conservation. It is an eco-literacy program. Students that attend a presentation are given a sea turtle activity book free to take home. The book was written by Zander Srodes and is available in 3 languages. Books have been taken and mailed to students all over the world. There are over 100,000 books in print. Currently, the team is working on a sister school program that creates a network of youth around the globe to share their culture, language, and turtles. The team is also involved in helping communities in remote areas promote eco-tourism. This can benefit both the residents and sea turtles. Sharing and protecting their natural resources to establish a cottage coastal industry. The Turtlers have mentored a new team, the Pick Up Posse. They are an elementary age team of students. The program is focused on water way and beach clean ups. They are active and have adopted a canal called Hudson Bayou in Florida.
